What You Should Know About CoolSculpting?

flat stomach sculptingCoolSculpting is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure developed by Zeltiq Aesthetics, Inc. It’s a new process that removes fat by freezing it.

How Does CoolSculpting Remove Fat?

The cooling process kills the subcutaneous fat cells just under the skin while leaving the skin totally unharmed. This is possible because fat freezes at a much higher temperature than skin so while the temperature is brought down to where the fat gets frozen the rest of the targeted area remains totally fine.

The areas that are commonly treated with this procedure includes the abdomen or belly area, the inner thighs, the love handles or muffin tops and back fat areas. It supposedly is able to shrink the fat in the treated area by as much as 25% for a one hour process.

The machine can only treat an area the size of a stick of butter. That’s only about a few inches long and wide. This means that if you have are aiming for a larger area for the treatment, you may need to do a couple of sessions.

What to Expect After the Process?

Since it has been approved by the stringent review process of the United States Food and Drug Administration this means that it has gone over a lot safety and hazard protocols to ensure that it is safe for human use.

The side effect of each treatment is minimal. Typically, a patient will feel some soreness and tenderness in the treated area. There will also be some feeling of numbness because of the cold – this will probably be around for a few weeks.

Who Can Undergo CoolSculpting?

Due to the small area it can target and the equally small fat tissue it can affect even with repeated treatment, this procedure is not meant for obese people or people who want to lose massive weight.

Realistically, this is only for those who are within 10 to 15 pounds of their ideal body weight. It’s simply a process that is aimed at removing those unwanted fatty areas that no amount of exercise or dieting can remove.
